One week, the essence of Morocco
Seven days is the ideal length for a first visit: enough to combine Marrakech, the High Atlas, the Sahara Desert and an imperial city without rushing. This is a tried-and-tested itinerary that balances culture, landscape and desert.
Days 1-2 · Marrakech
Start with the red city: the medina and Jemaa el-Fna square, the souks, the palaces and the Majorelle Gardens. Stay in a riad inside the medina to really live it.
Days 3-4 · Atlas, kasbahs and desert
Cross the High Atlas towards Ait Ben Haddou and the Dadès Valley. The next day, the Todra Gorges and arrival in Merzouga for the night at the camp and sunrise over the dunes.
Days 5-6 · From the desert to Fez
Head north through cedar forests and mountains to Fez, the oldest medieval medina in the world. A full day to get lost in its 9,000 alleys, the tanneries and the madrasas.
Day 7 · Return
Transfer to Fez airport or back to Marrakech, depending on your flight. The end of a perfectly rounded week.
